Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective, and patient-family centered Med/Surg nursing care
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Document assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately in the EMR
- Respond rapidly and efficiently in emergency situations to keep patients safe
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold the organization’s mission and values
- Provide patient/family education to support recovery and discharge planning
- Work independently while escalating concerns appropriately for optimal outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Maine (or eligible for Maine licensure)
- Clinical Med/Surg experience preferred; ability to function independently is essential
- Strong assessment, communication and documentation skills
- Comfortable using EMR and other clinical computer systems
- Demonstrated ability to act quickly and confidently in emergency situations
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional standards
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Med/Surg nursing practices and patient assessment techniques
- Accurate clinical documentation and EMR navigation
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients and care teams
- Emergency response and rapid decision-making under pressure
- Ability to prioritize care and manage multiple patients safely
- Understanding of patient-family centered care principles
