Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and patient-family centered Med/Surg nursing care
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately in the EMR
• Respond rapidly and efficiently in emergency situations to keep patients safe
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold the organization’s mission and values
• Provide patient/family education to support recovery and discharge planning
• Work independently while escalating concerns appropriately for optimal outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Maine (or eligible for Maine licensure)
• Clinical Med/Surg experience preferred; ability to function independently is essential
• Strong assessment, communication and documentation skills
• Comfortable using EMR and other clinical computer systems
• Demonstrated ability to act quickly and confidently in emergency situations
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional standards

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Med/Surg nursing practices and patient assessment techniques
• Accurate clinical documentation and EMR navigation
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients and care teams
• Emergency response and rapid decision-making under pressure
• Ability to prioritize care and manage multiple patients safely
• Understanding of patient-family centered care principles
