Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility while preserving dignity
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team
- Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
- Support safe environment practices including infection control and fall prevention
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
- Engage residents with empathy and build trusting relationships to enhance wellbeing
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in Virginia
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Comfort with lifting and safe patient handling practices
- Availability to work the posted day shift and every-other-weekend rotation
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: bathing, feeding, transfers, toileting, and vital signs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and team members
- Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and patient privacy practices
- Ability to observe, report, and document changes in patient condition accurately
- Teamwork mindset and adaptability in a fast-paced care environment
