Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day & Night): 06:30 AM - 06:30 PM and 06:30 PM - 06:30 AM. Schedule is manager-made, includes every-other weekend and required holiday coverage as needed (rotating schedule including day and night coverage).
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality Med-Surg ICU care for adults and patients >15 years old with compassion and clinical excellence
- Titrate vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics and other drips safely and according to protocols
- Interpret telemetry and cardiac strips using Draeger centralized monitoring to spot changes early
- Respond to and participate in Codes and Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) with confidence and clear communication
- Manage respiratory support from nasal cannula through ventilator troubleshooting and collaborate with RTs
- Accurately document assessments, interventions and patient progress in EPIC
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including residents, fellows and attendings to coordinate complex care
- Float to other inpatient units as needed (excluding Maternity/NICU) and support unit flow during volume flexes
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (required)
- Minimum 2 years of critical care / ICU nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- NIHSS certification (required)
- Comfortable with 12-hour shifts and able to meet every-other-weekend/holiday rotation requirements
- Driver's license required at time of submittal (used to confirm 50-mile radius eligibility)
- Willingness to complete unit orientation (2 shifts) and pass the open-book orientation exam (90% pass required)
Education
- Active RN license (Associate or BSN acceptable)
- BSN not required for submission
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong ability to titrate drips and manage vasoactive/ sedative infusions
- Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Proficient charting in EPIC and accurate clinical documentation
- Experience or ability to manage invasive lines and monitoring: A-lines, CVP, Swan-Ganz, ICP monitoring
- Familiarity with CRRT, EV-1000 hemodynamic monitoring, Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump concepts (on-unit training available)
- Comfort with high-flow, CPAP, BiPAP and basic ventilator troubleshooting
- Excellent critical thinking, situational awareness and teamwork under pressure
- Strong communication skills with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
