Shift Type: Rotating shifts including day and night rotations, schedule varies and includes weekends (rotating)
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Organize, prepare, and safely handle surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
- Set up the operating room and ensure sterile technique is maintained throughout cases
- Utilize and maintain surgeon preference cards to streamline case flow and efficiency
- Assist in provision and reinforcement of patient education according to the plan of care
- Collaborate with surgical team members to support excellent perioperative patient care
- Recognize and protect confidential patient information and demonstrate legal/ethical accountability
- Learn new computer software and electronic health record processes as needed
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred; IMH willing to train the right candidate
- Previous surgical technologist experience preferred; instrumentation experience required
- Previous hospital or perioperative experience strongly preferred
- Must obtain BLS within 60 days of hire and maintain certification throughout employment
- If a graduate technologist, certification as CST required or must complete ASA CST within 3 months of hire and maintain credential
- Strong communication, customer service, time management, and problem solving skills
Education
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred (training available for the right candidate)
Knowledge & Skills
- Perioperative support and instrumentation expertise
- Strict adherence to sterile technique and safe instrument handling
- Familiarity with surgeon preference cards and operating room setup
- Ability to provide clear patient education and compassionate care
- Comfort with electronic health record systems and learning new software
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently
