Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic mammography exams with skill and compassion to support accurate screening and diagnosis
• Conduct breast ultrasound studies and document findings clearly and professionally
• Operate and maintain Hologic mammography and ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper QC
• Accurately chart exams in Cerner and manage images in PACS (CHC) to keep patient records precise
• Work closely with in-house radiologists to deliver timely, high-quality imaging care
• Provide excellent patient education and positioning to maximize exam quality and patient comfort
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and imaging protocols including radiation safety and BLS standards

Qualifications

• AZ Mammography License and Arizona Radiology License OR ARDMS Breast Ultrasound credential (one or the other required)
• ARRT (M) and ARRT (R) certifications listed as required; ARRT Breast certification preferred if mammography licensed
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• At least 1 year of breast imaging experience (mammography and/or breast ultrasound)
• Experience with Cerner and PACS (CHC) is highly desirable
• IV insertion skills are a plus but not required
• Comfort working in a 6-scan-room breast imaging center and not floating

Education

• Completion of an accredited radiologic technology or mammography program; ARRT or ARDMS credentialing as noted above

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Hologic mammography and ultrasound systems
• Proficient use of Cerner for charting and PACS (CHC) for image management
• Exceptional patient positioning and breast imaging technique
• Knowledge of mammography QA/QC procedures and radiation safety
• Ability to manage high scan volumes while maintaining quality (expect ~25 mammograms and ~16 ultrasounds/day)
• Clear communication with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams
• Basic IV skills a helpful bonus
• Comfort working in an acute care breast imaging setting
