Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM (day) and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (night); every-other-weekend requirement; schedule set by unit scheduler; holiday requirements vary

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing for ICU patients with conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, CVA/TIA, DKA, sepsis, CHF and STEMI
- Assess, plan and implement individualized nursing care and reassess frequently for rapidly changing patients
- Titrate and manage vasoactive drips and other titratable medications (vasopressors, insulin, TNK, heparin, sedatives) safely and according to protocol
- Troubleshoot ventilators, BiPAP and high-flow devices and collaborate with respiratory therapy for complex respiratory needs
- Interpret telemetry strips and monitor trends to anticipate and act on clinical changes
- Document care accurately and efficiently in EPIC to support continuity and quality of care
- Collaborate with E-ICU, in-house intensivists, hospitalists, APRNs and bedside techs to deliver coordinated patient care
- Participate in unit processes including floating to PCU and medical floors when needed and support charge nurse operations
Qualifications
- Current RN license (eligible to work in the state of Nebraska)
- BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certifications required prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of ICU or critical care nursing experience
- Comfortable titrating drips and managing vasoactive infusions safely
- Proven competency with EPIC charting and bedside telemetry interpretation
- Valid driver’s license required at time of submittal (radius rule applies)
- Willingness to complete orientation pass/fail exam (open-book) and achieve required 90% score
- Adherence to facility policies including prohibition of artificial nails for patient care
Education
- Active RN license required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision-making
- Ventilator management and troubleshooting (including BiPAP and high-flow devices)
- Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
- Medication titration experience with vasopressors, insulin protocols, anticoagulation and IV antibiotics
- Experience working with E-ICU systems and collaborating with remote critical care teams
- Ability to work effectively with patient care techs and support staff in high-acuity settings
- Comfort with fast-paced acute care workflows and multidisciplinary communication
