Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, helping with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility while preserving dignity
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in resident condition accurately
• Support safe transfers and fall-prevention measures to keep residents secure
• Collaborate with nurses and the care team to follow individualized care plans
• Communicate respectfully with residents and families to build trust and understanding
• Maintain clean, safe environments and follow infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and required immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic bedside manner
• Reliable transportation for per-diem assignments

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and mobility support
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe body mechanics
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and clinical teams
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate changes in condition appropriately
• Time management for busy shift environments and multi-tasking
