Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, supporting dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes in condition promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfers while following facility lift and safety protocols
• Document care activities clearly in resident records and communicate with the care team
• Encourage social engagement and meaningful activity to enhance resident quality of life
• Observe and report any behavioral or health changes to nursing staff immediately

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility immunization requirements
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADLs (activities of daily living) assistance
• Ability to take and record accurate vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control and resident safety practices
• Strong observational skills for recognizing changes in resident condition
• Good teamwork and clear communication with nurses and interdisciplinary staff
