Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, supporting dignity and independence
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes in condition promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers while following facility lift and safety protocols
- Document care activities clearly in resident records and communicate with the care team
- Encourage social engagement and meaningful activity to enhance resident quality of life
- Observe and report any behavioral or health changes to nursing staff immediately
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility immunization requirements
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADLs (activities of daily living) assistance
- Ability to take and record accurate vital signs
- Familiarity with infection control and resident safety practices
- Strong observational skills for recognizing changes in resident condition
- Good teamwork and clear communication with nurses and interdisciplinary staff
