Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee and deliver safe, evidence-based dialysis care for chronic in-center patients
• Supervise and mentor dialysis technicians to ensure high standards of care
• Assess and monitor patients before, during and after treatments and respond to changes
• Administer medications and adjust treatments per standing orders and care plans
• Provide patient education to support self-care, dietary needs and treatment adherence
• Collaborate closely with nephrologists, dietitians, social workers and the interdisciplinary team
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with facility protocols

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Washington State Board of Nursing or a Multi-State Compact RN license
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers (current CPR/BLS certification required)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; prior dialysis experience required
• Prior acute care or ambulatory nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to work AM and PM shifts and travel between peninsula clinics (Poulsbo, Bremerton, Port Orchard, Port Townsend)
• Strong communication skills and comfort supervising technicians and coordinating care

Knowledge & Skills

• Hemodialysis procedures and dialysis nursing best practices
• Medication administration for dialysis patients
• Patient assessment, monitoring and care plan development
• CPR and Basic Life Support for healthcare settings
• Patient education and care coordination with nephrology team members
• Participation in quality improvement and documentation standards
