Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming to preserve dignity and independence
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support during daily routines
• Follow care plans and document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices
• Assist with meal setup and feeding support when needed, ensuring resident comfort

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification or equivalent (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and supporting their physical and emotional needs
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with the care team
• Reliable, punctual, and able to pass required background and health screenings
• Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of a state-approved GNA/NA training program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Practical knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and geriatric care basics
• Ability to take and record basic observations and follow care plans
• Familiarity with infection prevention, safe resident handling, and PPE usage
• Good interpersonal skills to build rapport with residents and families
• Detail-oriented documentation and time-management skills
