Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor and document resident condition, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support meal service, feeding assistance, and safe mealtime practices
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification in good standing
• Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent experience
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to work night shifts and be available for per diem scheduling
• Clean background check and required immunizations/tuberculosis screening
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and age-related needs
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and resident mobility
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Familiarity with charting and clear, concise communication
• Knowledge of infection prevention and safety procedures
• Teamwork, reliability, and the ability to prioritize resident needs
