Location: Bowie, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (evening, non-overnight; per-diem scheduling)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) in a respectful and dignified way
- Support safe mobility and transfers to reduce fall risk and improve comfort
- Monitor and report changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
- Help maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote resident well-being
- Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect residents and staff
Qualifications
- Valid Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Comfortable working with older adults and those with cognitive or mobility challenges
- Reliable, compassionate, and a team player who communicates clearly
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
- Basic clinical observation skills (vital signs, skin integrity, mobility)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and families
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Detail-oriented documentation and time-management skills
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
