Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based oncology nursing care to adults on the K9A Oncology/Women's Surgical unit
• Administer medications and infusions safely, following facility protocols and chemo safeguards when certified
• Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition to improve outcomes
• Document care accurately and efficiently using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered plans
• Support continuity of care during handoffs and contribute to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; oncology or med-surg experience preferred
• BLS certification (required)
• Chemo certification preferred and will make your application more competitive
• Experience with Cerner EMR is highly valued
• Comfort working overnight shifts and scheduled weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong oncology nursing knowledge, including infusion safety and symptom management
• Med-surg skills and ability to manage common procedures like thoracentesis monitoring and echoes
• Proficient documentation skills in Cerner EMR
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced unit with 1:4 or 1:5 patient ratios
