Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing for ICU patients, maintaining a typical 2:1 patient ratio
• Perform and manage invasive procedures such as central line and arterial line placement and monitoring
• Assist with and manage intubation and ventilator care when required
• Care for patients with EVDs in coordination with core staff and neurosurgery teams
• Document patient care and clinical changes accurately using Meditech EMR
• Monitor hemodynamics, titrate vasoactive infusions, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient-centered care plans
• Serve as a reliable, accountable team member who supports peers during high-acuity situations

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (state licensure required for practice in Texas)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (explicit requirement)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Experience or comfort with Meditech EMR is preferred
• Experience in oncology or neuro critical care is a plus
• Demonstrated competency with central line, arterial line, intubation, and EVD patient care
• Strong teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or nursing diploma; BSN preferred
• Ongoing professional development encouraged

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and ICU workflow
• Invasive line management (central lines, arterial lines) and related troubleshooting
• Airway management and ventilator basics including intubation support
• EVD patient care and monitoring practices
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical records
• Ability to manage complex meds and titrate vasoactive drips
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and documentation
