Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to critically ill oncology/BMT patients in a 10-bed ICU
- Manage ventilators and BiPAP support, continuously monitor respiratory status and intervene as needed
- Titrate drips safely and accurately to maintain hemodynamic stability
- Perform tracheostomy care, dressing changes and total care for high-acuity patients
- Operate and monitor specialty equipment including CRRT, IV pumps, A-lines and Flow-track
- Document patient care and clinical changes in Meditech in a timely, thorough manner
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain patient ratios (typically 2:1) and escalate concerns according to unit guidelines and policies
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure (state of practice required)
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (strong ICU experience highly preferred)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
- Experience with ventilator management, titrating drips and care of critically ill patients
- Comfort with oncology/BMT population or willingness to learn unit-specific protocols
- Ability to work rotating nights and weekends and to float to other ICUs, PCU and BMT as needed
- Compassionate team player with strong communication and collaboration skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and BiPAP care
- Titration of vasoactive drips and infusion pump management
- Tracheostomy care and dressing changes
- Familiarity with CRRT and management of renal replacement therapy
- Proficiency with EMR (Meditech) documentation
- Monitoring with A-lines, IV pumps and Flow-track
- Critical thinking, rapid assessment and prioritization in high-acuity settings
