Roles & Responsibilities
- Verify sterile IV compounding using Dose Edge to ensure safe, accurate preparations
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, including Pyxis checks and first-dose handling
- Perform medication verification and order review in the Meditech EMR to safeguard patient care
- Manage vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing—apply clinical judgment to optimize therapy
- Coordinate with nursing and clinical teams for timely medication delivery and emergency box readiness
- Lead decentralized pharmacy activities on the day shift to support hospital-wide coverage
Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
- Current license to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (required)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant pharmacy experience preferred
- ACLS and BLS certifications are a plus
- NICU experience is a plus for candidates with neonatal exposure
- Comfort supervising technicians and working with automated systems (Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge)
Education
- Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on familiarity with Dose Edge for sterile compounding verification
- Experience using Pyxis and Pak Edge automated dispensing systems
- Working knowledge of Meditech EMR workflows for medication orders and documentation
- Strong medication verification and clinical dosing skills (vancomycin, aminoglycosides, anticoagulants)
- Ability to lead and train pharmacy technicians and manage decentralized pharmacy tasks
- Clear communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary hospital teams
