Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced emergency department
• Provide direct patient care including monitoring, medication administration, and critical interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the care team to develop and implement care plans
• Perform acute emergency procedures and respond to codes and trauma situations with confidence
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record (Meditech experience preferred)
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions with compassion
• Support unit operations by participating in shift handoffs, staffing requests, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license (temporary licenses will not be accepted) — required
• NIH certification — required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications — required
• 2+ years of experience as an RN and 2+ years of specialty experience in Emergency Department nursing — required
• Meditech experience — preferred
• Comfort working rotating 12-hour night shifts and every-other-weekend schedule

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and emergency assessment skills
• Proven ability to manage high-acuity patients and multiple competing priorities
• Familiarity with emergency protocols, trauma care, and resuscitation
• Effective communication and teamwork under pressure
• Proficiency with electronic health records (Meditech preferred)
• Good documentation practices and clinical judgment
