Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care, treatment and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia and emphysema
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation and advanced ventilator modes to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and adjust therapy accordingly
• Deliver non-invasive support including CPAP, BiPAP and nebulizer therapies
• Perform chest physiotherapy (CPT) and other airway clearance techniques as indicated
• Document assessments, treatments and patient responses accurately in the EMR (Meditech)
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Maintain equipment competence (Servo I, Hamilton, V60, Astral) and ensure safe operation and infection control

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• BLS, ACLS and NRP required
• Minimum 2 years current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Experience with mechanical ventilation and ABG interpretation
• Preferred: Trauma experience
• Preferred: Previous Meditech EMR experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in mechanical ventilation management and ventilator modes
• Strong ABG interpretation and clinical decision-making
• Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizers and CPT procedures
• Familiarity with ventilator models: Servo I, Hamilton, V60, Astral
• Comfortable using Meditech or similar EMR for documentation
• Team player with critical thinking and strong communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment
