Shift Type: Rotating nights (primary), 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating weekends; may include mixed day/night shifts as needed
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
- Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support safely and confidently
- Titrate vasoactive, sedation and paralytic drips following unit protocols
- Perform and assist with intubation and extubation procedures when indicated
- Monitor cardiac and neurologic rhythms using telemetry, EKG and EEG and respond to changes
- Prepare and support patients for sedated MRI and other procedures
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Meditech and manage meds via Pyxis
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team and support families through critical care journeys
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (required)
- Minimum 1 year pediatric ICU (PICU) nursing experience (required)
- Current ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications (required)
- Comfortable with ventilator management, titration of critical drips, and airway management
- Experience with Meditech, Pyxis and Alaris IV pumps preferred
- Ability to float to NICU, Nursery or Ob/Gyn areas when qualified
Education
- Active RN license (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Pediatric critical care principles and best practices
- Ventilator settings and troubleshooting for pediatric patients
- Medication titration for vasoactive, sedation and paralytic drips
- Airway management including intubation and extubation
- Monitoring and interpreting telemetry, EKG and EEG readings
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic charting and Pyxis medication systems
- Competence with Alaris IV pumps, feeding pumps, infant warmers and pediatric equipment
- Strong prioritization, multitasking and family-centered communication skills
