Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and instruments for orthopedic, spine, laparoscopic and robotic procedures
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and anticipating procedural needs with focus and precision
• Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure all equipment (Stryker, DaVinci, Mako, Globus) is functioning and ready
• Collaborate with the perioperative team and nursing staff to ensure patient safety and efficient case flow
• Document perioperative care accurately in the EMR (Meditech) and communicate critical information during handoffs
• Participate in quality improvement and unit safety initiatives to deliver excellent patient outcomes

Qualifications

• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) required
• Current BLS certification required
• NBSTA and DORA certifications required (candidates without these will not be considered)
• Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist / OR experience (experience with ortho/spine procedures preferred)
• Experience with robotic and specialty systems such as DaVinci, Mako, Globus, and laparoscopic techniques a plus
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR and Stryker equipment preferred
• Strong teamwork and collaborative mindset; reliable and professional in high-acuity environments

• Perioperative care and operating room procedures
• Orthopedic and spine surgical techniques and instrumentation
• Robotic surgery support (DaVinci) and specialized platforms (Mako, Globus)
• Laparoscopic procedure setup and instrumentation
• Meditech EMR documentation and workflow
• Sterile technique, infection control and patient safety practices
• Excellent communication, situational awareness, and teamwork
