Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
- Perform thorough patient assessments and continuous cardiac monitoring
- Document all care clearly and efficiently in Cerner to support safe handoffs
- Deliver compassionate patient communication using AIDET and patient experience best practices
- Collaborate with physicians, techs and unit clerks to coordinate high-volume ED care
- Provide real-time coaching and constructive feedback to support team performance
- Safely operate unit equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Adhere to unit policies and maintain up-to-date certifications to ensure quality care
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
- Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and/or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
- Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC required within 90 days of hire
- Demonstrated teamwork mentality and ability to coach colleagues with real-time feedback
- Comfort floating to all sections within the ED
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong triage and emergency nursing skills
- Proficiency with Cerner documentation
- Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
- Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring systems
- Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking
- Clear communication and patient experience focus (AIDET)
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced ED environment
