Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Perform thorough patient assessments and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Document all care clearly and efficiently in Cerner to support safe handoffs
• Deliver compassionate patient communication using AIDET and patient experience best practices
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and unit clerks to coordinate high-volume ED care
• Provide real-time coaching and constructive feedback to support team performance
• Safely operate unit equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Adhere to unit policies and maintain up-to-date certifications to ensure quality care

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and/or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
• Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• Demonstrated teamwork mentality and ability to coach colleagues with real-time feedback
• Comfort floating to all sections within the ED

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and emergency nursing skills
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation
• Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring systems
• Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking
• Clear communication and patient experience focus (AIDET)
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced ED environment
