Shift Type: Rotating nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (overnight) — schedule includes every-other-weekend and is set to meet department needs; nights/overnight shift

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse, high-volume patient population
- Perform rapid, accurate triage and prioritize care in a busy ED environment
- Deliver trauma and stroke care aligned with Level 2 Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center protocols
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes using cardiac monitoring systems
- Administer medications and manage infusion devices such as Baxter pumps safely
- Document patient care thoroughly and timely in Cerner
- Coach, mentor, and provide real-time feedback to peers to support team performance
- Champion patient experience using AIDET and clear communication to keep patients informed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and transitions
- Adhere to unit policies, maintain certifications, and support a culture of safety
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to practice in North Carolina preferred)
- Minimum 2 years’ nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI before start date
- ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
- Experience in Level 2 trauma center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
- Comfortable using Cerner and working with Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Team-oriented with ability to coach, give feedback, and float across ED sections
- Flexible for rotating night schedules and every-other-weekend coverage
- Professional demeanor and commitment to patient-centered care (navy scrubs required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing fundamentals: triage, trauma care, stroke protocols
- Cardiac monitoring and acute cardiac event recognition
- Proficient Cerner documentation and electronic charting workflow
- Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring systems
- Strong teamwork, communication, and coaching abilities
- Patient experience practices including AIDET and respectful communication
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced ED environment
- Familiarity with Level 2 trauma and comprehensive stroke center processes
