Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Rapidly assess and triage incoming patients to prioritize care and interventions
• Initiate and manage emergency protocols, including airway, cardiac and trauma care
• Administer medications, perform IV therapies and manage complex treatments
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs and ancillary staff to coordinate care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up plans
• Maintain situational awareness and contribute to a safe, efficient ED environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or eligibility via Compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) strongly preferred
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid patient assessment skills in emergency settings
• Proficiency with IV starts, medication administration and emergency procedures
• Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and basic EKG interpretation
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and making quick decisions
• Clear communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary care teams
• Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
