Respiratory Therapist

Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Start Date: 05-25-2026

End Date: 08-24-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, team scheduling with weekend requirements every third for days and every other for nights, holidays rotate with permanent staff

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide respiratory care across all patient populations from neonates to geriatrics
Perform EKGs, bedside bronchoscopies, and bedside spirometry procedures
Cover inpatient areas throughout the entire hospital
Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists available 24/7
Float to different units as needed while maintaining RT expertise
Work alongside providers and nursing teams to deliver exceptional patient care

Qualifications

Current RRT or CRT credential required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
NRP and PALS preferred
Recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required
Valid driver's license for radius verification
Must live outside 50-mile radius from facility
No current employment with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities

Knowledge & Skills

Experience with Drager, Servo I, and Carefusion ventilators
Proficiency with Vision, V60, V30, and Respironics S/T BiPAPs
Knowledge of Airvo2 high-flow systems
Strong time management and adaptability
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Willingness to learn and grow professionally
