Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM and 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert care for critically ill adult and pediatric trauma patients in a fast-paced Level 1 trauma ICU
Titrate and manage complex medication drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
Monitor and interpret telemetry using Draeger heart monitoring systems with centralized telemetry
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver life-saving interventions for patients with sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, and cardiac arrest
Support advanced therapies such as CVP monitoring, IABP, Impella, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, ICP monitoring, and rapid transfusion protocols
Mentor and guide patient care techs while maintaining a 1:1-2 ICU and 1:4 PCU nurse-to-patient ratio

Qualifications

Active RN license with ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum one year of recent ICU experience preferred
Strong critical thinking skills and ability to interpret telemetry strips independently
Comfortable working with advanced hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical ventilation equipment
Must live outside a 50-mile radius of Omaha and cannot be currently employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry interpretation and arrhythmia recognition
Drip titration and hemodynamic monitoring
Critical thinking in high-acuity trauma settings
Team collaboration and positive communication
Adaptability to floating across inpatient units
