Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM and 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend and holiday

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide specialized care for open heart, thoracic, and vascular patients recovering in the CVICU
Monitor and manage patients supported by Impella, IABP, CRRT, and ECMO
Titrate vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics to maintain patient stability
Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
Collaborate with intensivists and hospitalists who are in-house 24/7
Float to inpatient units as needed while supporting the broader hospital team

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience with this patient population
Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
Valid driver's license required at time of submittal

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of cardiac surgery recovery and advanced hemodynamic support
Comfort managing complex drips and troubleshooting vents and other respiratory equipment
Excellent critical thinking and rapid response skills
Ability to pass a skills-based exam during orientation
