Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 0630-1830 or 1830-0630, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to ICU patients with diverse diagnoses including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and respiratory distress
Titrate and manage critical drips such as cardiac, insulin, and sedation medications
Interpret and document telemetry strips, utilizing GE monitors with tele tech support
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed, carrying appropriate patient ratios (1:4 or 1:5)
Maintain a safe environment, adhering to fingernail policy and infection control standards

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Minimum of 1 year of recent ICU experience preferred
Ability to pass an open-book skills exam with 90% or higher during orientation
Driver's license required for verification of residency outside 50-mile radius

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in caring for patients on ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen
Proficiency in reading and interpreting cardiac rhythms and telemetry strips
Strong understanding of evidence-based critical care protocols
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment and handle complex patient needs
