Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Triage patients, assess acuity, and prioritize care in a fast-paced urgent care/ED setting
• Administer medications, start IVs, manage drips, and perform life-saving interventions
• Collaborate with the ED physician and mid-level providers to develop and implement care plans
• Manage ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen independently (no RT on site)
• Read and interpret telemetry strips and cardiac monitors using Philips equipment
• Perform point-of-care lab testing and draw labs as needed
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Must hold current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to work independently and manage patients with minimal supervision
• Previous emergency or urgent care experience preferred
• Comfortable with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 12-bed unit
• Willingness to float to other units as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and assessment skills for a variety of conditions (chest pain, respiratory, stroke, ortho, GI, lacerations)
• Proficient in IV starts, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing
• Experience with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen management
• Able to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
