Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Waldorf, Maryland

Start Date: 06-14-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (per diem shifts may vary)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist elderly residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to nursing staff
Help with mobility and transfers using proper techniques
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
Ensure residents' nutritional needs are met during meal times

Qualifications

Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in Maryland
Current CPR certification
Compassionate and patient demeanor
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of resident care procedures and safety protocols
Understanding of infection control practices
Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and transferring patients
Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with residents and families
