Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate care for patients with cardiac and vascular diagnoses, including post-surgical recovery
• Titrate and monitor critical drips such as amiodarone, nitro, nicardipine, epinephrine, and cardizem
• Interpret telemetry strips and remote monitor readings to detect arrhythmias and changes in patient status
• Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, and cardiologists to deliver comprehensive patient care
• Float to units of same or lower acuity as needed, ensuring safe patient ratios
• Mentor and support patient care techs in a 1:18 ratio setting

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in CVU, intermediate care, or similar cardiac unit
• Valid driver's license to verify 50-mile radius compliance
• Commitment to uphold facility policies including artificial nail prohibition

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and rhythm recognition
• Expertise in titration and management of vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drips
• Strong assessment skills for intermediate and step-down cardiac patients
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Familiarity with BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula respiratory support
