Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Location: Bismarck, ND

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM, including rotating weekends every third weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide respiratory care to a diverse patient population from neonates to geriatrics
Manage ventilators and respiratory equipment across ICU, NICU, ER, and other units
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans
Make independent clinical decisions in critical situations
Perform diagnostic tests and therapies including high-flow oxygen and airway management
Monitor patient responses and adjust treatments as needed

Qualifications

Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
RRT or CRT credential with ND state license
Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required
Ability to work independently and make sound clinical judgments
Level II trauma experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in ventilator systems (PB 840, PB 980, Hamilton C1, MR1, V-60 Respironics)
Experience with high-flow therapy (Airvo)
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Knowledge of neonatal to geriatric respiratory care
