Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM and 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every 3rd weekend and holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care to MedSurg and ED patients, including swing bed rehabilitation and critical/trauma cases
Perform patient admissions, discharges, and transfers with clear communication
Titrate medications effectively, including insulins, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed
Start IVs, manage PICC and port lines, and assist with central line care
Respond to cardiopulmonary, stroke, and sepsis codes, and coordinate trauma response with flight transport teams
Independently interpret telemetry strips and complete 12-lead EKGs
Float between MedSurg unit and Emergency Department as needed to ensure seamless patient care
Collaborate with a small team, including one CNA, to maintain a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota or compact state
Minimum of 1 year ER experience required
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Comfortable working independently with minimal staffing and direct communication with hospitalists
Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced, critical care environment

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in Meditech EMR system
Skilled in telemetry interpretation and EKG completion
Experience with Hamilton T1 ventilator, BiPap, and high-flow oxygen
Knowledge of EMTALA regulations and flight transport procedures
Strong IV insertion and medication titration abilities
Excellent teamwork and communication skills in a small-team setting
