Location: Bismarck, ND

Start Date: 07-13-2026

End Date: 10-12-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM days or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM nights, every other weekend, holidays as needed

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgeries, and bariatric care
Manage postoperative care including early ambulation, colostomy care, and JP drain management
Monitor and titrate occasional heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN as needed
Conduct bedside shift reports and ensure safe handoffs
Collaborate with charge nurse and interdisciplinary team to maintain patient safety and quality outcomes
Float to medical and telemetry units as required, assisting with telemetry monitoring

Qualifications

Active RN license in North Dakota or compact state required
BLS certification required
Previous MedSurg experience preferred
Surgical experience (post-op, early ambulation) strongly preferred
Open to first-time travelers

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of postoperative care and common surgical diagnoses
Proficiency in managing heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN
Ability to work rotating shifts and every other weekend
Excellent communication and teamwork skills for bedside shift report
Comfortable floating to medical and telemetry units
