Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Block scheduling, variable 12-hour shifts, every other weekend and holidays (1 summer and 1 winter holiday)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Attend deliveries as the baby nurse, providing immediate newborn care and support
Manage care for infants with conditions like phototherapy, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
Perform IV starts and maintenance, and assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance
Support transfers to higher levels of care when needed
Flex to postpartum care for mother-baby couplets when nursery is quiet
Titrate drips such as D5W and TPN as ordered

Qualifications

Current RN license in Washington state
NRP and BLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of experience in NICU Level 2 and postpartum preferred
Skilled in attending deliveries as the baby nurse, IV start and maintenance, Bubble CPAP and Hiflow
Ability to assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance
Comfortable with drip titration (D5W, TPN)
Charge nurse experience is a plus
