Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Nights, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, including every other weekend and half of winter holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients in a rural hospital setting
Manage triage, labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) for a small unit with 4 LDRP beds
Function as the primary baby catcher and transition nurse at deliveries
Monitor fetal heart tracings using OBIX system and apply AWHONN guidelines
Titrate Pitocin drips as needed
Collaborate with on-call OB providers and anesthesia team

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of L&D experience with LDRP training
Active and unrestricted RN license in Colorado or compact state
Current ALS, NRP, and AWHONN EFM certifications
Ability to triage independently and act as baby catcher
Comfort with Pitocin titration and basic neonatal resuscitation

Knowledge & Skills

Strong skills in fetal monitoring interpretation
Knowledge of AWHONN staffing guidelines
Experience with LDRP model of care
Ability to work in a fast-paced rural environment with limited resources
Team player willing to float to med-surg occasionally
