Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer infusion therapies and chemotherapy safely and accurately following facility protocols
• Assess and monitor oncology patients before, during and after treatments to ensure optimal outcomes
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care plans and communicate changes
• Educate patients and families about infusion procedures, side-effect management and home care
• Document treatments, assessments and patient education clearly in EPIC to maintain continuity of care
• Recognize and respond quickly to infusion reactions or other emergencies using current BLS practices
• Maintain strict adherence to chemotherapy certification standards and safe handling procedures

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (required)
• Chemotherapy certification with recent chemotherapy administration experience (required)
• Recent infusion clinic experience is a must
• Minimum four years of acute nursing experience in an oncology setting
• Current BLS certification
• Experience using EPIC EMR for documentation and care coordination

Education

• Valid California RN license (required). Nursing diploma/ADN/BSN per facility policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of infusion therapy protocols and safe chemo handling
• Skilled in IV access, pump programming and infusion troubleshooting
• Proficient documentation and electronic charting in EPIC
• Excellent patient education and communication skills for oncology populations
• Ability to triage changes in patient status and act decisively in emergencies
• Teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced outpatient infusion setting
