Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, emotional, psychosocial and family support needs using thorough, compassionate evaluations
• Organize and coordinate all aspects of patient care tailored to individual needs and clinical paths
• Evaluate patient progress by correlating clinical data with nursing knowledge to ensure goals in the plan of care are met
• Provide integrated pre-operative and post-operative critical care interventions for cardiac and SICU patients
• Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to plan and implement total patient care
• Document care accurately and timely in Epic to support continuity and quality of care

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (LARA and/or Nursys must show Active Michigan/MI License) [REQUIRED]
• Minimum 2+ years SICU experience [REQUIRED]
• Open Heart trained [REQUIRED]
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) - active [REQUIRED]
• Prior travel assignment history - preferred
• Epic EMR experience - preferred
• Work history and current skills checklist pertinent to ICU (within 1 year) [REQUIRED]
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years [REQUIRED]
• Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts as scheduled

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing and advanced cardiac/post-operative care
• Pre-operative and post-operative patient assessment and monitoring
• Care coordination, care planning and clinical evaluation
• Strong application of the nursing process and clinical judgment
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with Epic EMR and accurate clinical documentation
• BLS and ACLS competency and rapid response readiness
