Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to residents and patients
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support safe mobility and transfers while promoting patient independence
- Monitor and report changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
- Accurately document care, vital signs, and observations in the chart
- Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, active in New Mexico or eligible for state certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work 12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of patient care and infection control practices
- Ability to take and record basic vital signs and observations
- Safe transfer and lifting techniques
- Basic charting and record-keeping skills
- Teamwork, time management, and strong interpersonal skills
