Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist residents with activities of daily living
• Perform vital signs, basic clinical tasks, and timely documentation with accuracy
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility support, and fall prevention measures
• Communicate observations and changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Build trusting relationships with patients and families through respectful, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico required
• Ability to work a 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM night shift on a per-diem basis
• Comfortable with direct patient care, lifting/assisting patients, and bedside duties
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings is a plus
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care: ADLs, vital signs, toileting, feeding, and basic hygiene
• Accurate charting and attention to detail when documenting patient information
• Understanding of infection control practices and patient safety standards
• Effective teamwork, time management, and prioritization during busy shifts
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills with patients and families
