Contract Type: Perm
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (day, rotating; includes weekend rotation)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $26 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the Physical Therapist in delivering individualized treatment plans and therapeutic exercises
- Provide hands-on care including gait training, transfers, and mobility assistance to promote independence
- Monitor patient progress and document treatments accurately in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and equipment use
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and rehabilitation staff to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain a safe, clean treatment area and ensure equipment is used and stored properly
- Advocate for patient-centered care and contribute to a positive, encouraging environment
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in Maine or eligible for licensure
- Graduation from an accredited PTA program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or obtainable upon hire
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Comfortable working a daytime schedule with occasional weekend rotation
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with therapeutic modalities, assistive devices, and adaptive equipment
- Proficient in patient handling, transfers, and safe mobility techniques
- Comfortable with clinical documentation and electronic health record systems
- Knowledge of rehabilitation goals, functional outcome measurements, and discharge planning
- Understanding of infection control, HIPAA, and workplace safety practices
