Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any clinical changes promptly to the nursing team
- Assist with safe patient transfers, ambulation, and use of mobility aids
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate clearly in shift handoffs
- Support infection control practices and keep patient areas clean and safe
- Build trusting relationships with patients and families while preserving dignity and privacy
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support care plans
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in good standing (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or ability to obtain quickly
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Comfort and experience working overnight shifts and handling physically active roles
- Strong communication skills and a positive, patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- CNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in safe patient handling and mobility assistance
- Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of infection prevention and basic wound care protocols
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting care
- Ability to recognize and escalate changes in patient condition
- Team-oriented, reliable, and detail-focused in busy clinical settings
