Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts including weekends — Day shift (typical): 07:00 AM - 07:30 AM; 3x12 rotation with weekend coverage (3 weekend shifts per schedule).
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $68 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert cardiac telemetry and PCU/stepdown nursing care to adolescents, adults and geriatrics
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, identifying and managing dysrhythmias promptly
- Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams to deliver timely emergency interventions
- Manage central lines and PICC lines, and administer blood products safely
- Care for tracheostomies, chest tubes and non-invasive airway support (BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen delivery)
- Follow heparin protocols and manage cardiac/vasoactive drips (per facility policy, no titration)
- Document patient care accurately and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, RT, phlebotomy, radiology and social services)
- Float to other UCSF facilities as needed and adapt quickly to different unit workflows
Qualifications
- Active CA RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac stepdown (PCU/TCU) experience — HARD STOP: must be cardiac stepdown
- AHA BLS and ACLS required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Comfort with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and participation in code teams
- Ability to float to other UCSF Medical Center locations
- Preferred: CCRN, transplant experience, prior charge experience, IV therapy and phlebotomy skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong cardiac telemetry and monitoring skills
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Central line/PICC care and blood product administration
- Tracheostomy and chest tube management
- Non-invasive airway management (BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen therapy)
- Familiarity with heparin protocols and management of cardiac/vasoactive drips (per policy)
- Effective teamwork in rapid response/code scenarios
- Ability to adapt to multiple UCSF locations and varying patient loads
