Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care for critically ill adults and children in the ICU — ventilator management, airway support, and cardiopulmonary monitoring
- Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in Epic to ensure seamless team communication
- Respond quickly to acute changes in patient condition and participate in emergency airway and resuscitation efforts
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health staff to develop and adjust respiratory care plans
- Float between like units as needed to meet facility staffing requirements while maintaining scope of practice
- Adhere to facility infection control, safety protocols, and observed holiday staffing requirements
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Active North Carolina respiratory care license required (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience (ICU experience strongly preferred)
- Comfortable treating both pediatric and adult ICU patients
- Prior experience charting in Epic is a plus
- Willingness to work nights, every-other-weekend rotation, and holiday coverage
- Ability to float to like units and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Flu vaccine required per facility policy (medical/religious exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required
Education
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (or higher)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
Knowledge & Skills
- Mechanical ventilation management and troubleshooting
- Airway management and oxygen therapy expertise
- ABG interpretation and bedside respiratory assessment
- Critical care monitoring and ventilator weaning protocols
- Comfort using Epic for documentation and care coordination
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced ICU/trauma environment
