Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity critical care to adult ICU patients with compassion and clinical skill
• Assess, monitor and document patient status using EPIC and bedside assessments
• Read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips and act promptly on abnormalities
• Titrate vasoactive drips, insulin, and sedatives safely and per protocol
• Troubleshoot respiratory support from nasal cannula through ventilator support and collaborate with Respiratory Therapy
• Respond to trauma and code events with calm, decisive action
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and recovery plans

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for practice in Nebraska (license to submit required)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Comfortable titrating drips and managing cardiac monitoring/strip interpretation
• Familiarity with GE telemetry systems and EPIC charting
• Driver's license required at submittal (50-mile radius rule applies)
• Willing to complete orientation requirements and pass the skills exam (90% pass required)
• Able to work nights, every other weekend, and meet the holiday requirement for the contract

• Critical care nursing practices and protocols
• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Vasoactive medication management and drip titration
• Ventilation basics and troubleshooting from nasal cannula to ventilator
• Trauma and acute medical management (sepsis, post-stent, stroke, renal/heart failure)
• Proficient EPIC documentation and clinical charting
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making
