Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer therapeutic IVs, chemotherapy and blood products with precision and compassion.
- Assess and monitor patients before, during and after infusion to ensure safety and comfort.
- Educate patients and families about treatments, side-effect management and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with oncology providers and the outpatient team to coordinate seamless care.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record and report changes in condition.
- Follow strict chemotherapy/biotherapy and infection-control protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold clinic standards of care.
Qualifications
- Current Colorado RN license in good standing (required)
- BLS (AHA) certification (required)
- ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of RN infusion experience (preferred/expected)
- Experience with IV administration, chemotherapy administration and blood products
- Ability to provide Nursys license verification and pass agency credentialing
Knowledge & Skills
- Infusion nursing best practices and outpatient infusion workflows
- IV insertion/maintenance and safe medication administration
- Chemotherapy handling, administration and biotherapy protocols
- Monitoring for infusion reactions and emergency response readiness
- Strong patient education, communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary oncology team and prioritize care
