Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the unit by coordinating care, staffing, and daily operations to ensure smooth patient flow
• Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff to promote high-quality, compassionate care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and quality standards
• Monitor clinical outcomes and drive continuous improvement initiatives on the unit
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to foster a positive care environment
• Oversee accurate documentation and effective use of the electronic health record
• Assist with staffing logistics and scheduling to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain prior to start
• Previous experience in unit management, charge nurse, or leadership role preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; advanced certifications such as ACLS or PALS if required by facility
• Strong clinical judgment and proven ability to lead teams in a long-term care or rehab setting
• Excellent communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and background checks prior to start

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Unit management and staff supervision
• Patient assessment and development of individualized care plans
• Knowledge of long-term care and rehabilitation nursing practices
• Regulatory and quality compliance awareness
• Medication management oversight
• Proficient documentation practices and comfort with electronic health records
