Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in delivering patient-centered therapy treatments that improve mobility and everyday function
- Guide patients through therapeutic and self-care activities to promote independence
- Monitor and document each patient’s progress to inform care planning
- Encourage patients throughout their recovery and help them set realistic goals
- Teach patients, family members, and caregivers practical skills and techniques to support ongoing treatment at home
- Help injured employees relearn motor skills aimed at returning them to the workplace
- Maintain treatment rooms and equipment so therapy can happen safely and smoothly
- Update patient records and communicate observations to the supervising Occupational Therapist
Qualifications
- COTA license — Required
- Missouri State license — Required (Compact allowed)
- BLS (AHA) certification — Required
- CPR certification — Required
- Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience preferred
- Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation preferred
- Strong documentation skills and professional communication with patients and care teams

- Patient therapy techniques and treatment planning
- Clinical documentation best practices
- Patient education and teaching caregivers
- Mobility improvement and self-care activity training
- Equipment maintenance and safe usage
- Monitoring and reporting patient progress
- Rehabilitation approaches for long-term care residents
- Ability to motivate and encourage patients through recovery
