Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, preserving dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) with patience and respect
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient status accurately and timely
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing team and document care clearly
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and respectful care environment
- Collaborate with nurses and other care team members to deliver coordinated care
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to work overnight/12+ hour shifts and a flexible per-diem schedule
- Strong communication skills and a caring bedside manner
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility policies
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care skills: ADLs, transfers, ambulation assistance
- Basic clinical skills: taking and recording vitals, observing changes in condition
- Infection control and safe patient handling practices
- Accurate documentation and basic charting/EHR familiarity
- Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize under pressure
- Comfort working overnight hours and supporting a varied patient population
