Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patient concerns quickly and compassionately
• Coordinate care across cardiology services to keep patients on track
• Assist and operate Exercise Stress Tests and Tilt Table Tests safely
• Perform EKGs and manage heart monitoring equipment with attention to detail
• Start IVs for diagnostic testing and ensure specimen/procedure readiness
• Educate patients on cardiac conditions, medications, and treatment plans
• Occasionally assist with patient rooming to support clinic flow
• Support the EMR conversion from Athena to Epic by following best practices and workflows

Qualifications

• Current Colorado RN license in good standing
• BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Minimum 3 years of cardiology-specific clinic/ambulatory nursing experience
• Experience working with Athena and Epic electronic medical records
• Proven competency with EKGs, IV starts, and heart monitoring equipment
• Ability to complete Nursys license verification as requested

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac nursing and clinic/ambulatory workflows
• EKG acquisition and interpretation fundamentals
• IV insertion for diagnostic testing
• Exercise Stress Test and Tilt Table Test protocols
• Triage, care coordination, and patient education techniques
• Familiarity with Athena and Epic EMR systems and EMR conversion processes
• Operation and troubleshooting of heart monitoring equipment
