Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized critical care to CCU/ICU patients using evidence-based nursing practices
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in coordination with the multidisciplinary team
• Prepare, administer and document medications and promptly report adverse reactions
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, cardiac rhythms and ventilator parameters to guide care
• Obtain and process lab specimens; interpret results and adjust care per protocols
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy and other invasive procedures per unit protocol
• Respond rapidly to life-threatening events using established critical care protocols
• Educate patients and families on post-treatment care, medication management and recovery plans

Qualifications

• Valid nursing license in state of practice or Nurse Licensure Compact eligibility
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Verification of suicide training for compact licensure and Nursys e-Notify demographic verification
• Proof of right to work in the United States
• Critical care/ICU or CCU experience in a hospital setting
• Comfortable with ventilator/respirator management, advanced cardiac monitoring and hemodynamic assessment

• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Ventilator and respirator management
• IV therapy, phlebotomy and medication administration
• Patient assessment and critical care nursing interventions
• Telemetry equipment, central venous and pulmonary artery pressure monitoring
• Oxygen therapy and advanced life support response
• Lab specimen collection and diagnostic test interpretation
